Embedding Ethics in Business

Abstract

In a globalised business world, corporations are increasingly facing challenges relating to how they respond to requirements that dictate responsible strategies towards wider stakeholder groups. This presentation looks at the fundamental drivers for corporate engagement and its relationship with sustainability strategy that is currently being followed by leading companies. In particular who are some of these leading companies, and what are some of the challenges they face when developing sustainability strategies.

Bio

Tobias Webb is founder and MD of Innovation Forum, which focuses on emerging/frontier markets and sustainability. He has organized or overseen more than 150 business conferences, training workshops and meetings on business strategy since 1999. As founder of Ethical Corporation in 2001, he has interviewed hundreds of leading managers and CEOs, worked with NGOs and for the last five years taught Applied Corporate Responsibility at Birkbeck, University of London. As an advisor and trainer he’s worked in-depth with some of the world’s largest companies and frequently visits lean and frontier markets to host training and work with large companies. Having developed national CR policy for the current UK Prime Minister on responsible business from 2006-9, Tobias is also the creator and co-publisher of the palm oil debate website www.betterpalmoildebate.org, sponsored by the RSPO.
